For this competition, the choir prepared a concert of three pieces from a specialized list of music, one of which was required to be performed a cappella (without accompaniment). In addition, they had to sing a piece of music which they had never seen before. Each portion of the contest is performed for a panel of three judges who rated the choir from I-V, with I being the highest score. We are proud to announce that the Mustang Choir received a score of II–Excellent in both concert and sight reading. “They have shown significant improvement this year and represented themselves and our school in an outstanding way”, said Ms. Knight, the director. “The IB characteristics we strive to instill in our students was very evident in their performance and conduct throughout the contest process.” The Mustang choirs will continue their work by preparing for the solo & ensemble contest and two performances of Cinderella next month.
