Travis Science Academy Home

Our Story

Established in 1956 as Travis Junior High, the school was named in honor of the commander of the Alamo, William Barrett Travis. As a junior high campus, students in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades attended. A middle school campus since 1975, in 2011, the school was renamed Travis Science Academy and now holds classes for 6th through 8th-grade students.
 
School colors are green and white.
The school mascot is the mustang.
The unofficial school motto is “It’s a Great Day to Be a Travis Mustang!”
 
Classes begin each weekday at 8:25 a.m. and dismissal is 4:05 p.m.

MYP Showcase 2026

Please join the Travis Science Academy 8th Grade Class for a day of exploring the issues and important actions related to service to our communities. Student groups and individuals will present their MYP Community Service Projects during a special Student Showcase at the Travis Science Academy Library. The students have made inquiries into the relationships and needs between people around the world and people here in our local area. Students will discuss how they connected a community need to the issues that impact the future generation of the Global Community.
