Travis Science Academy Home

Our Story

Established in 1956 as Travis Junior High, the school was named in honor of the commander of the Alamo, William Barrett Travis. As a junior high campus, students in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades attended. A middle school campus since 1975, in 2011 the school renamed itself Travis Science Academy and now holds classes for 6th through 8th grade students.
 
School colors are green and white.
The school mascot is the mustang.
The unofficial school motto is “It’s a Great Day to Be a Travis Mustang!”
 
Classes begin each week day at 7:50 AM and classes are dismissed for the day at 3:45 PM.

Color Guard 2020-2021

Any 8th graders looking to tryout for Temple High School's Color Guard for the 2020-2021 school year, please check out their recruiting video! Such a fun organization to be part of, you will definitely have a family for life!!

Remote Learning Options will begin on Tuesday, March 24

Travis students will need to log on to their Google Classroom pages OR pick up packets on Monday (3/23/20) from 5-6:30 pm or Tuesday (3/24/20) 7:30AM-1:30PM and 5-6:30PM. For more information, please see the link below. For those working digitally, teachers will post their lessons on Google Classroom by Tuesday morning and will be available for "office hours" from 8:30AM-12:00PM, Monday-Thursday both digitally and by phone. Teachers will reach out to their students with more information through Google Classroom.

8th Grade MYP Showcase
