Travis Science Academy 8th grade students escaped the STAAR Monday by completing an escape room during their math classes
Students displayed the the MYP learner profile characteristics of being thinkers by using various problem solving skills and strategies to solve each clue that would eventually lead them to their big prize. They had to become effective communicators with their team so that they could formulate a plan that allowed them to work together and utilize each team member's strength to finish in time. Lastly the students had to be open-minded so that their entire team could be successful.
Each individual had different ideas on how to approach the different problems, clue, and in their search for the different lock boxes. The students really demonstrated their abilities to work together for a common goal during their final review so they could escape the STAAR.
