Travis Science Academy once again partnered with local food banks during the 2nd Annual SHARE AND CARE Food Drive. Teachers accepted student donations of nonperishable food items, such as Peanut Butter, Canned soup, Canned fruits and vegetables, Boxed dinners, Macaroni & cheese, Beans, rice, pasta, and Cereal from students in their Mustang Teams beginning in November and donated more than 700 food items total, according to Middle Years Programme Coordinator Stephen Traynor, who sponsored the event along with Communities in School coordinator Ryan Johnson.
Prizes for the Share and Care Drive included one for the best decorated collection box, and the another for food collection amounts. Contest results are as follows:
MOST FOOD COLLECTED in classes with less than 14 students: Mrs. Spears with 261.
MOST FOOD COLLECTED in classes with more than 14 students: Mr. Leverington with 48.
BEST COLLECTION BOX went to Mrs. Gamino's class with Mrs. Botts' classes as the runner up.
We are proud of our students in their efforts to demonstrate the MYP Learner Profile characteristics of Caring and being Principled.
