Science Classes raise the Marshmallow Roof

Students in Mrs. Jennifer Barr and Coach Le-Net Franklin's 6th grade science classes carefully pieced together structures made of spaghetti sticks and marshmallows to learn about the scientific method and how to successfully collaborate during class on August 26th.

Students were instructed to build structures that could withstand the weight of the marshmallows. Many groups had to repeat their processes before getting it right, and the MYP student profile characteristic to be courageous was employed to keep students trying after failures.
