Football, in a math class?

Mrs. Mendoza’s math students conducted experimental probability shooting their paper footballs and then developing a prediction based upon the data they collected.  Lilliana Cortez made the following statement about the activity, “The paper football game is an easy and fun way of learning probability.”  Another 7th grader, Jessica Hernandez, said, “I think this activity was a great idea.  It taught me how to have fun while doing math at the same time.  Everyone had fun working together and I think almost everyone learned something from it.  We should do more fun math activities like this.”
